How do I set up the SATA/ESATA device into my system correctly?

How can I prevent my system from crashing or freezing when I try to hot-swap my hard drive?

A：

Before you turn on the PC please make sure the power connector from your system hard drive is isolated from the power connector connected to the hard drive you wish to hot-swap. Both connectors should be on different cables from the power supply.

This is the correct IDE/SATA power connector configuration. Please refer the picture as shown. (A is your system hard drive, B is your hot-swap hard drive)

This is the incorrect IDE/SATA power connector configuration where both drives are being powered by the same cable from the power supply.

This configuration affects all products with hot-swappable features including: KL series, FT series, RV series, and FP35.

Front panel connectors installation guide.

Power switch and reset switch installation guide：

Please refer to the motherboard manuals for the motherboard’s “Front Panel Connector” or “System Panel Connector” pin definition. Power switch and reset switch have no polarity, so they can be connected in any orientation.

LED connector installation guide：

Please refer to the motherboard manuals for the motherboard’s “Front Panel Connector” or “System Panel Connector” pin definition.
White colored wires are negative while other colored wires are positive.

RV series Power LED installation guide：

Please connect this peripheral connector from the case to your power supply.

I have a custom cooler, how do I know which way the heat pipes should be situated to obtain the best performance in the RV01?

A：

There are two main types of heat pipes used in popular aftermarket coolers, they are groove and powder. Groove heat pipes are very susceptible to gravity while powder heat pipes are less so. To achieve best performance in either heat pipe technology, they need to be placed horizontally or have the heat source side located below the other end of the heat pipe. We recommend choosing and installing components with heat pipes carefully by taking into consideration of the following examples:

Motherboard:

The orientation of an enthusiast motherboard in a normal ATX case

The orientation of an enthusiast motherboard in the RV01

As the illustrations above show, most enthusiast motherboards with heat pipes will work fine in the RV01, the heat source is located below other parts of the heat pipe.

CPU cooler:
Horizontal style cooler

Good orientation

Bad orientation

Many CPU coolers can be rotated when installing on motherboards, the illustration here shows a SilverStone NT06-E

VGA cooler

The illustration here shows a VGA cooler that will not work well in the RV01 because the heat source side (touching the GPU) ends up being located higher than the other end.

How to remove 180mm fans?

A：

1. Please remove the top panel, the right side panel and left side panel.

2. Remove the two screws holding the 180mm fan bracket from the right side.

3. Remove the screws form the other side of the 180mm Fan bracket.

4. Please unplug the 180mm fan and remove the four screws on the 180mm fan.

5. Please push the clips from both sides of the 180mm fan bracket.

6. The 180mm fan and frame are now separated. Repeat the above steps in reverse to reinstall 180mm fan into the case.
